Tennille Shuster

Tennille Davis Shuster, Associate Professor of Graphic Design at Mercer University, earned her B.F.A. from James Madison University and M.F.A. from Florida Atlantic University. She is the recipient of several awards, including the Florida Artists’ Book Prize. Her work is widely exhibited and resides in private and public collections worldwide, including the Bienes Museum of the Modern Book, the Hamilton Wood Type Museum, and the Smithsonian Artist’s Book Collection.

Behind Closed Doors

Behind Closed Doors is printed on Arches heavyweight paper using handset Caslon metal type on a Vandercook 4 proof press. The varied edition features 4 cover options pressure printed with 4 unique house keys on 4 different types of wood veneer. Each book includes marbled paper, and blind hand-embossed illustrations from original papercuts. Poem courtesy of the artist, dedicated to her three amazing sisters and exhausted women everywhere. Edition of 4.
